
The library started with three (3) members of staff, has a normal sitting capacity of 31 and a collection of 79 volumes mainly for school of Business and Economics and School of Informatics and Innovative Systems. Operations and services within the library were done manually. As time went by within the year, more books in various disciplines were purchased for the library and the collection grew to 242 volumes, 29 print Journals from different disciplines together with manual past papers.
There has been marked improvement and the Library now has 15 computers which has enable smooth transformation from manual to online especially tasks within the Circulation desk , internet access and integrate with KOHA Integrated Library Management System that enables library operations and services to be done online. The library has subscribed to e-resources (e-journals, e-books, online databases) which can be accessed on and off campus by both staff and students.
The library has continued to experience tremendous growth in collection. Our print collection of (4859) volumes, (42) copies of theses both for masters and PhD, Institutional repository and several copies of government publications are continuously accessed, used and borrowed by those users who are able to reach us physically as we also adhere to covid-19 containment measures. It has a normal sitting capacity of 62 which translates to 30 in light of the current circumstances. The Library continues to receive interns from reputable institutions who beside acquiring experiential knowledge help beef up our lean staff.

Kisumu campus library is part of the JOOUST Library system. It was set up the year 2012. The library is linked to the main campus library since library operations and services are centralized. The main library seconds staff, and is responsible for acquisition, library collections, infrastructure together with other resources for all satellite libraries. The operating hours are Mon-Fri. 8.00a.m. to 8.00 p.m; Saturdays 8.00a.m. to 5.00p.m.; Sundays 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. We remain closed during gazzetted Public Holidays.
